101 Things to do for Valentine's Day (with just a dash of Plantation Resort)

We found a great list of 101 things to do with the one that you love on the MomGenerations blog found here.  We were so inspired we combined her great ideas with ours to help make your Valentine's Day the most romantic and memorable yet!
 
Here's the list.  Enjoy!

1. Hide love notes throughout your home.
2. Treat your loved one to Plantation Resort’s Valentine’s Day Brunch in the Activity Center from 10 am-1 pm (after sleeping in).
3. Write “I Love You” in rose petals on your bed.
4. Make a video montage of photos of the 2 of you.
5. Serve up a romantic dinner in your condo with one of Plantation Resort’s fully equipped kitchens.
6. Run a warm bubble bath. 
7. Send romantic quotes to each other throughout the day via email.

The 7th Annual Shuckin’ on the Strand Oyster Roast, hosted by gsSCENE and presented by FSA Full Steam Ahead, Inc. will be held Saturday, February 21, from 12-4 pm at the Hot Fish Club.  This event is the Grand Strand’s largest oyster roast, open to the public, serving up oysters and chicken bog to sold-out crowds of over 500 attendees.  Cost is $25 per ticket which includes all-you-can-eat oysters from Harrelson’s Seafood, chicken bog, fixin’s and two draft beers. 12th Annual Palmetto Regional First Robotics Competition

The Dickens Christmas Show is a unique national award winning event comprised of a multitude of shopping and entertainment options for individuals and groups alike. Each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the curtain rises on this spectacular maritime parade at the Little River Inlet at 5 pm and travels south, arriving at Dock Holidays Marina at 7 pm.  Gather your family and watch the parade as it passes various viewing areas along the waterway.  Remember to bring a new toy and drop it off at a collection point at any marina in Little River or North Myrtle Beach.  If the parade ends and you have not yet donated your toy, you can take it to Harbour Gate Marina.  With your donations of new, unwrapped toys and/or monetary offerings, you can help make sure that there is not a single child without a present to open on Christmas morning.

In Brookgreen Gardens' Fall season presentation,“Gullah Tings fa Tink Bout,”  Ron Daise, Vice President for Creative Education, will perform a concert of songs and readings from his CD of the same title.  Through a musical journey of rich imagery and evocative rhythms and instrumentation, viewers celebrate Gullah Geechee culture in the genres of traditional spiritual, blues, gospel stomp and clap, Gullah Geechee/West African pop, and a Gullah Geechee/West African/Caribbean blend.  Themes highlighted are African Diaspora; the common cultural connections of food ways, language, rice heritage, crafts, music; the tragedy of enslavement; the importance of family and the resilience of survival.  Programs in the Wall Lowcountry Center Auditorium are free with garden admission.

The Georgetown Wooden Boat Show, always held on the third weekend in October, offers fun for the whole family.  The show will feature one of our nation's best wooden boat exhibits with more than 140 classic wooden boats displayed on land and water, a wooden boat building competition, children's model boat building, knot tying, maritime art and crafts, food and music.  A special attraction will be the Wooden Boat Challenge when teams of two race to build a rowing skiff within a 4-hour time limit and then test their boats for seaworthiness in a rowing relay on the Sampit River.
