Date Ideas in Myrtle Beach for Every Personality

Great Food + Fun Activity = Great Date

You’re here at Plantation Resort, staying for a romantic week with your sweetheart and you want to do something to really impress them.  Maybe you’ve brought your best friend and you want to show them a fun day of pampering to let them know how much you appreciate them.  Or maybe you came alone for some quality time with numero uno.  Whatever your goals are for Valentine’s Day, this list will give you some great ideas to start.  Click on any of the highlighted locations to go to their websites or for a map and directions.

What best describes your date?

For the Quiet Artist we suggest the following:

Brookgreen Gardens
Dinner at Brookgreen
Coccadotts for Dessert

Take a peaceful stroll with your loved one through the beloved Brookgreen Gardens (Click here for directions).  Your artistic sweetheart will surely be swept off their feet by these expansive gardens and elegant statues.  In February the special exhibits will be “Equine Spirit: The Horse in American Art,” “Sojun tu Gullah Geechee” and “The Oaks Plantation History and Nature Trail.”  Brookgreen also boasts the elegant Pavilion Restaurant so you don’t have to leave the Garden for your romantic dinner.  If you find yourself craving dessert, drive on over to Coccadotts’ to pick out some of their yummy cupcakes.  These tiny cakes are a work of art in themselves, and they taste even better than they look.

If your sweetie is the Adorably Dorky type, we know he or she will love these choices:

MagiQuest or WonderWorks
Magaritaville
Ole Fashion Ice Cream Parlor

You’ve found your prince or princess and you want to impress them with a full night of interactive fun.  Head to Broadway at the Beach where you can choose from a variety of engaging activities.  Try impressing your companion with your awesome wand waving skills at MagiQuest.  Here, you gain magic skills by performing quests with your personalized magic wand.  If science is more your darling’s speed, just head to the other end of Broadway where you will find WonderWorks (it’s the building that’s upside down).  Here you’ll find lots of interactive exhibits to bring out the wonder of your inner child, but you don’t have to be a child to appreciate how amazing these exhibits are.  Afterwards try any of the great restaurants at Broadway at the Beach.  We recommend Magaritaville.  You’ll surely love the fun atmosphere.  They’ve decorated the place with a giant hurricane, flying fish and full-sized boats and there’s even a balloon artist on staff who walks around on stilts creating your favorite animal. On your way back to the Resort, stop by the Ole Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor for a couple of sundaes (and don’t forget your 2-for-1 coupon from our welcome magazine).

If your date is Dashingly Romantic, try this:
Miyabi’s
Walk on the Beach

It’s cliché for a reason.  Long walks on the beach are classically romantic.  Stroll along the beach, arm in arm with your sweetheart and talk about the things that matter or simply walk listening to the waves gently rolling onto shore.  It’s a recipe for romance.   You have plenty of time to gaze into the horizon, contemplate the universe and maybe even fall in love.  For a great complement to this activity drive down to Murrell's inlet where you will find the exotic Miyabi’s Hibachi Grill where you watch a skilled chef prepare your food in a performance that will have you “oohing” and “ahhing” till you finish your meal.  Expect flames, flavor and fun.

Do you want to take out your Pampered Pals? Try visiting these places with them:

Shopping at Tanger Outlet
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory
LA Nails
Salt Water Creek

Let Tanger Outlet take care of your shopping needs.  They have lots of great stores for clothes, kitchenware and more.  Satisfy your sweet tooth with a tantalizing treat from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.  It's a great way to get you in the right mood for pampering.  After all that shopping your feet will love a soothing pedicure from LA Nails.  Be sure to show them your Plantation Resort room key and they’ll give you 10% off.  After you and your friend’s tootsies have received tender loving care, drive further south to Salt Water Creek for a casual dining experience.  Remember to bring your recreation pass for a free appetizer.

If your date is the Spry and Sporty type, we recommend this date:

Dagwoods
Runaway Bay Mini Golf

If you are looking for mini golf, you’ll find a variety of fantastical themes in the Myrtle Beach area.  Runaway Bay is a great venue for mini golf lovers.  Golf easily opens up opportunities for you or your darling to lean in and show the other person the "correct stance" for their golf swing.  After a great afternoon of golf, you can stop by Dagwood's on your way back to Plantation Resort.  At Dagwood’s, the game is always on.  Each booth has a television where you can turn to your favorite sports channel and share your favorite game with your favorite person.  If you get back to the Resort and you haven't had enough golf, try out the Golf Clinic where a championship golf pro can help you with your swing.

To make your romantic getaway complete, there's nothing better than a stay at charming Plantation Resort.  To find out how you can reserve your stay, call 1-800-845-5039.  We look forward to making your Valentine's vacation with us a memorable one!
