November Fun on the Grand Strand—A Calendar of Events

Myrtle Beach is a magical place in November.  As the temperatures dip and the holidays draw near, many local events invite you to revel in the season with your family and friends.  We’ve pulled together a list of some of the most exciting activities coming to Myrtle Beach in November.

Holiday Activities
Dicken’s Christmas Show and Festival, with its beautiful Christmas crafts and homemade foods, the Dickens Christmas Show and Festival is a beloved holiday tradition in Myrtle Beach.  Christmas crafts fill the booths at the Convention Center while music fills the air.  You’re sure to feel the holiday spirit with this and any of these other fun activities:

Arts
At Art in the Park, artists from around the country will exhibit their work right here in Myrtle Beach at the Market Common.  You can expect to find photography, yard art, furniture, pet goods, knits, paintings, jewelry, ceramics, cooking tools and more!  If you love art in any of its forms, you’ll enjoy Myrtle Beach, with its many festivals, exhibits and shows for you to choose from:

Fun Runs
As we enter the holiday season focused on eating, it can be a good idea to have a little physical activity in our schedule as well.  Fall is a season known for its colors and the 5k Color Run will be adding a few colors of their own.  Few fun runs have garnered such popularity and enthusiasm as the Color Run, it’s easy to understand why.  Whether you walk, skip or run, we have plenty of fun runs for you to choose from this November:

Come be a VIP—Owner and Guest Getaways for October

Live entertainment, fantastic food and lasting friendships—there were so many reasons to love the September Owner and Guest Getaway!  When asked to summarize her weekend in one sentence, guest Deloris exclaimed “When is the next one!”  Well, to answer her question, we'll host the next Owner and Guest Getaway on October 18th-20th.
Deloris’s enthusiasm about the Owner and Guest Getaways is understandable after the exhilarating weekend she enjoyed being chauffeured by our drivers to restaurant and entertainment venues around Myrtle Beach.  Deloris, her husband and 14 other couples and friends came together for a weekend of fun that started with an evening at Damon’s Oceanfront Grill.  While overlooking the ocean, our guests enjoyed delicious food and exciting prize giveaways.  One of our guests won a prize simply by having the most pictures of her family in her purse.

Family photos=prize!
The next evening, the elegant Italian eatery, Capriz left everyone fulfilled after the wait staff delivered plate after plate of pastas, pizzas and meats.  But the night didn’t end there.  After Capriz, our drivers chauffeured our contented guests to Legends in Concert, where they enjoyed classics from such artist impersonators as Roy Orbison, Diana Ross, the Blues Brothers, Cher and, of course, the legendary Elvis.
Our guests loved the food and entertainment.  As we chatted with them at the end of the weekend one of the highlights was making new friends.  Fifteen couples came together as strangers and left as friends after a weekend of fantastic food and fun.

VIP access onstagemeeting performers!
If you think that you, your family or your friends would enjoy a Getaway weekend in Myrtle Beach, we invite you to attend the October event.  We're planning an evening of fabulous seafood at Crabby Mike’s endless seafood buffet and another night of royal revelry at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament.

This event is just two weeks away!  To learn more about this sensational weekend, call 1-888-210-1241 today!

See for yourself how much fun everybody had in this video:

You Won't Want to Miss Myrtle Beach in October—Calendar of Events

Mark your calendars—October is a fantastic time of the year to visit Myrtle Beach.  The weather is great, the shows are still playing, the crowds have died down and the activities available to you will easily fill your calendar.  For your convenience we have compiled some of the biggest events in October.

Festivals

‘Tis the season for lederhosen and other Bavarian-inspired styles—that’s right, Oktoberfest is just around the corner and the Market Common is hosting an exciting celebration at Valor Park. That means live German music on Saturday and Sunday and, of course, lots of beer.  The Market Common boasts one of the largest selections of Oktoberfest beer of the season.  Enjoy German food throughout the festival.  You can also bring your children since there are many fun activities for kids: pumpkin decorating, face painting, inflatables and more!  In addition to Oktoberfest, here are some other events you may enjoy:

Motorcycle and Car Shows

Polished chrome, custom paint jobs and rumbling engines—if you love the smell of gasoline in the morning, there are a lot of reasons to visit Myrtle Beach in October.  One of the biggest events of the month occurs October 2nd-5th when Harley riders from around the country come riding in.  The Myrtle Beach Bike Week Fall Rally sponsors several exciting tours around the beach .  If cars are more your speed, you'll be  interested in seeing a few of these events:

Halloween Celebrations

Bring on the pumpkins, black cats and candy!  We can’t have an October calendar without including some of the best Halloween activities.  Of course you can expect several trick-or-treat activities and costume parties (see links below) but if you want a family friendly event with beautiful scenery and lots to do then you have to check out the Brookgreen Gardens Harvest Home Weekend Festival.  Here enjoy pumpkin decorating, scarecrow making and hayrides all surrounded by the lush beauty of the sprawling gardens (and of course lots of sweets).

·         Oct. 31: Cherry Grove, Halloween Trick-or-Treat at Barefoot landing (enter Cherry Grove SC into the "my community" search field to see the event)

You won’t want to miss Myrtle Beach in October.  With so much to do, you’re sure to find the perfect activity for your vacation. S’more the Merrier - Enjoy Mouth Watering S'mores!

A Unique S'more Experience

Reawaken childhood memories of sitting around the campfire, sticks in hand, and the sweet scent of caramelizing marshmallow floating on the air.  A golden brown crust clings to the outer edge of your now perfectly toasted marshmallow. As you press it between two crisp graham cracker halves, it oozes over the sides, bringing with it a hint of melted chocolate.  You close your eyes as you savor each moment, you know you're tasting something special.

Our new S’more the Merrier activity is the chance to bring out the child in all of us.  Join us on Tuesdays at 2pm in the Activity Center to craft delectable S’more creations and satisfy your sweet tooth for only $2.
Start by roasting your fluffy, white marshmallow at the roasting station.  When it has reached toasty perfection, move to the gourmet ingredient table to choose from a variety of fun s’more recipes.  Create your favorite or mix it up with new ingredients to try something deliciously new like Plantation Deluxe with graham crackers, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, pretzel square, and toasty marshmallow.
From the Classic S'more (with graham crackers, Hershey's Chocolate, and delicious marshmallow) to the Mint Dream (with chocolate mint cookie, Andes Mint and yummy marshmallow), you’re sure to enjoy several of our exciting menu items.  We also encourage you to make your own delicious s’more recipe.  Write your favorite recipe on our Facebook wall or tweet it to us on Twitter, you may just see your recipe added to the menu.

She enjoys the classic!
S’more the Merrier is just one of many new experiences filling our fall activity calendar.  Call 1-800-845-5037 to reserve your stay with Plantation Resort and partake in this fun activity for the whole family.  Your perfect s’more and your perfect vacation are waiting for you.
