AAA's Exciting Take on Myrtle Beach!

There is something for everyone in Myrtle Beach according to AAA's Go Magazine and we couldn't agree more!

We've always known that Myrtle Beach offers some of the best vacation options in the nation, and it's nice when other people notice too.  Here are a couple of articles from AAA to help you see why we think you'll love Myrtle Beach as much as we do!

Must See Attractions!

"Everyone from families and retirees to party-hearty college kids can find plenty to do in Myrtle Beach, which is why it’s one of the most popular vacation destinations in the country, attracting about 14 million visitors each year.  Of course this means big crowds, particularly during the spring and summer, but that just adds to the city’s vibrant energy, especially along the iconic Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.  The area is bustling with souvenir shops, restaurants and parks.  Other popular destinations include Barefoot Landing and Broadway at the Beach, two sprawling complexes that both have dozens of shops and boutiques, along with nightclubs and live entertainment.

Other must-see attractions along the 60-mile Grand Strand are Ripley’s Aquarium, one of the most visited attractions in South Carolina, and Myrtle Beach State Park, where you can enjoy the sandy beach, pavilions, picnic tables and a swimming pool.  (Plantation Resort provides complimentary passes to Myrtle Beach State Park.  Just stop by the front desk to request one.)

Go for a Spin: One of the newest attractions along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is the SkyWheel complex, which features a 200-foot Ferris wheel and multiple bars and restaurants."

Quiet Escape

"When you picture Myrtle Beach, think of families with kids or maybe a female-friendly escape, but you don’t have to venture too far out to find a quieter atmosphere still convenient to the city’s large-scale shopping amenities, such as Broadway at the Beach, where King Kong Sushi is a favorite dining destination, and groups always have fun requesting tunes at the Crocodile Rocks dueling piano bar.  Shopaholics will also appreciate the new Market Common, a pedestrian-friendly shopping complex featuring a 14-screen movie theater and a wide range of shopping and dining options.  Surfside Beach, just a few miles south, offers a little more room to spread out and proximity to the famed seafood dining of Murrells Inlet, a historic fishing village where restaurants including Drunken Jack’s and Nance’s are two of the area’s most famous options.  Try the nearby Gulfstream CafĂ© in Garden City, known for its spectacular salt-marsh views, where you can enjoy a cocktail on the upstairs deck before your meal."

We're so excited when we read that this article includes our beloved Surfside Beach!  This small town, where you'll find Plantation Resort, is Myrtle Beach's neighbor to the South and is a convenient location to visit Myrtle Beach and also indulge in all that Murrells Inlet and Garden City have to offer.  We definitely agree that the Myrtle Beach area offers some of the best vacation experiences and Plantation Resort welcomes you to stay with us where you're within a short driving distance of the best venues discussed in this article.  If you would like to learn more about making a reservation at Plantation Resort, call 1-800-845-5039.  We'd love to see you!
