Celebrate the New Year in Myrtle Beach

Are you looking for a celebration to bring in the New Year? We have you covered with a schedule of some of the best places to be at midnight in Myrtle Beach.  There are even some parties specifically for children, so if you want to drop them off for their party while you go to yours, check out this list:

The Market Common

This “Southern Times Square” party is happening just down the road from Plantation Resort.  Fire-eaters, stilt walkers, magicians and a band—this party will be hopping ‘til the midnight bell tolls, and they’ll finish off the night with a ball drop of their own.  It’s all the fun of New York without the cold or the crowd. The show starts at 7pm, but you can show up early to shop and look around.  There’s a lot to see and do at the Market Common and they will be setting up a tent for those who would like alcohol with their New Year’s celebration.

Broadway at the Beach

Broadway at the Beach is throwing an unforgettable New Year’s event full of fireworks and club hopping starting at 7 pm on December 31st.  Buy a ticket for $25.00 and you’ll receive unlimited access to Malibu’s Surf Bar, Club Boca, Froggy Bottoms and Broadway Louie’s!  They will be serving complimentary champagne at midnight to toast the New Year.  They then keep the party alive with live DJs and one of the wildest karaoke shows on the Grand Strand.

Ripley’s Aquarium

The Aquarium will be hosting a kids-only New Year’s Eve “Glow Party.”  This sleepover for 6-12 year-olds begins at 8pm New Year's Eve and ends at 8 am the next morning.  Tickets are 69.99 where your kids can sing karaoke, dance, make crafts, eat pizza, watch movies and enjoy the midnight ball drop.  Feel free to drop your kids off and then have your own adult celebration.

Barefoot Landing

Come to Barefoot landing with reservations at any of their waterfront restaurants and you'll enjoy fireworks to usher in the new year as they shoot out over the water.  Castano’s Italian Steakhouse will start your evening off with a glass of complimentary champagne.  A variety of performers will entertain at this restaurant from 6pm to midnight and DJ Curtis will keep you dancing from 12 am on.  Try their special New Year’s Eve menu and if you bring a $10 gift card from a local fast food restaurant to be donated to Teen Angel you'll receive a certificate for a free appetizer (a $10.95 value).

Children’s Museum of South Carolina

Beginning at 10 am on New Year’s Eve, bring your kids to celebrate the new year at the Children’s Museum of South Carolina.  This “Noon Year’s Eve” party runs until 1 pm and the kids will have tons of games and crafts to play with in addition to a balloon drop with a kid-friendly toast at noon.  Admission is only $5 to the museum that day.

After a fun night out ringing in the New Year, we’ll have your bed waiting for you, right here at Plantation Resort.  After you sleep in on New Year’s Day, come enjoy our New Year’s brunch.  It’s an expansion of the normal breakfast menu where you can take part in a beloved southern tradition of eating black-eyed peas for your first meal of the new year to bring you good luck all year long.  For more information about New Year’s activities and accommodations at Plantation Resort, call 1-800-845-5039.  Happy 2014!
