You Won't Want to Miss Myrtle Beach in October—Calendar of Events

Mark your calendars—October is a fantastic time of the year to visit Myrtle Beach.  The weather is great, the shows are still playing, the crowds have died down and the activities available to you will easily fill your calendar.  For your convenience we have compiled some of the biggest events in October.

Festivals

‘Tis the season for lederhosen and other Bavarian-inspired styles—that’s right, Oktoberfest is just around the corner and the Market Common is hosting an exciting celebration at Valor Park. That means live German music on Saturday and Sunday and, of course, lots of beer.  The Market Common boasts one of the largest selections of Oktoberfest beer of the season.  Enjoy German food throughout the festival.  You can also bring your children since there are many fun activities for kids: pumpkin decorating, face painting, inflatables and more!  In addition to Oktoberfest, here are some other events you may enjoy:

Motorcycle and Car Shows

Polished chrome, custom paint jobs and rumbling engines—if you love the smell of gasoline in the morning, there are a lot of reasons to visit Myrtle Beach in October.  One of the biggest events of the month occurs October 2nd-5th when Harley riders from around the country come riding in.  The Myrtle Beach Bike Week Fall Rally sponsors several exciting tours around the beach .  If cars are more your speed, you'll be  interested in seeing a few of these events:

Halloween Celebrations

Bring on the pumpkins, black cats and candy!  We can’t have an October calendar without including some of the best Halloween activities.  Of course you can expect several trick-or-treat activities and costume parties (see links below) but if you want a family friendly event with beautiful scenery and lots to do then you have to check out the Brookgreen Gardens Harvest Home Weekend Festival.  Here enjoy pumpkin decorating, scarecrow making and hayrides all surrounded by the lush beauty of the sprawling gardens (and of course lots of sweets).

·         Oct. 31: Cherry Grove, Halloween Trick-or-Treat at Barefoot landing (enter Cherry Grove SC into the "my community" search field to see the event)
