Myrtle Beach Marathon Weekend February 17th -19th!

Since 1998, the BI-LO Myrtle Beach Marathon has assisted the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of South Carolina and the Horry County Chapter of the American Red Cross with raising almost $3 million in charitable contributions! The Myrtle Beach Marathon and its weekend of events include the Myrtle Beach BI-LO Marathon, Dasani Half Marathon, RBC Bank 5K and Ripley’s One Mile Family Fun Run and the House of Blues Post Race Party.

Several Planation Resort staff members will be participating in the races and events! Hope to see you there!

The following is a listing of the Marathon Weekend Schedule of Events:

Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011
     Spirit Airlines Runner's Expo
           Start Time:  5:00pm              
           End Time:   9:00pm
           At the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

Friday, Feb. 18, 2011
     Spirit Airlines Runner's Expo
          Start Time:  11:00am
          End Time:     9:00pm
          At the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

     Ripley's Aquarium Family Fun Run, Ripley's Aquarium
          Start Time:  5:30pm
          End Time:   6:00pm
          Will start/end outside Ripley’s Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach.

     Ripley's Junior Post Race Party, Ripley's Aquarium
          Start Time:  6:00pm
          End Time:   8:00pm
    
     RBC Bank 5K
          Start Time:  7:00pm
          End Time:   8:00pm
          Will start on the 29th Ave N side of Broadway at the Beach.         
          Awards following the race at the Finish Line.

Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011             
     National Anthem, 6:15am

     BI-LO Marathon
          Start Time:  6:30am (6:25am for Wheelchair and Crankchair)
          End Time:   2:30pm
          Will start just N. of intersection of Grissom Prkwy and 21st Ave. N.
          The Finish Line will be in the parking lot of BB&T Coastal Field.
          Awards following the race at the Finish Line.

     Dasani Half Marathon
          Start Time:   6:30am
          End Time:  10:30am
          Will start just North of intersection of Grissom Pkwy & 21st Ave. N.
          The Finish Line will be in the parking lot of BB&T Coastal Field.
          Awards following the race at the Finish Line.

     House of Blues Post Race Party
          Start Time:  5:00pm
          End Time:   7:00pm
          Free to all registered participants of any event and all volunteers.
          $20 for guests and non-participants.
          Party is restricted to ages 21 and over.
          Free food, refreshments and entertainment.
          All awards and trophies available for pickup at the Post Race Party.
