A Great Start to a New Season of Getaways!

Owner and Guest Weekend Getaways are a series of special events sponsored by Plantation Resort.  During these weekend events, owners and guests are invited to view the many upgrades and improvements at the Resort while enjoying the newest, most exciting venues in Myrtle Beach!  If you’d like to join us for our next Getaway, please call us at 1-888-210-1241.

Plantation Resort officially kicked off the new season of Owner and Guest Getaways with our exciting September event!  We couldn't have picked a better group to get the ball rolling again. The weekend was filled with mouth-watering meals, exciting entertainment and great company that left everyone with a broad smile on their face!

The event began with a private VIP check-in at our Preview Center (no lines!) while enjoying delicious hors d'oeuvres with beer and wine.  Our special guests then had time to get settled in their rooms and rest from their long drive before beginning the weekend's exciting line-up of activities!

At 6:30pm, Plantation Resort buses arrived to shuttle our VIPs to a world-class dinner at Damon's Oceanfront Grill.  Upon arrival, everyone was shown into a private dining room overlooking the water where they immediately began striking up relaxed conversation and ordering drinks from the bar. We then enjoyed a series of games with Resort merchandise and restaurant gift certificates as prizes!  During the "Who Has It?" game, everybody laughed when the category was "dental products" and one of the ladies pulled a full bag of flossing tools out of her purse! Following the games everyone enjoyed delicious meals that included juicy prime rib, mouth-watering seafood and Damon's famous barbecue ribs.  To top it all off, servers brought around trays of assorted desserts for everyone to enjoy.

The next stop was the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel, the largest ferris wheel in the United States and a new addition to the Grand Strand.  As we made our way over, many of the guests joked with each other about whether or not they'd be brave enough to soar 187 feet in the air!  Fortunately, most of the group was able to gather up their courage and were rewarded with sweeping views of the city and the Atlantic.

The next morning, guests enjoyed a delicious hot and cold breakfast buffet next to the beautiful outdoor pool.  Following their meal, they participated in a tour that allowed them to see the many improvements and upgrades that have been made to the Resort!  One couple was especially excited when they saw the lazy river and splash pad and remarked that they had to bring their kids and grandkids back with them for a family reunion next summer!

The Birthday Girl and Her Family
That evening, everyone had a great time at Pirates Voyage!  We were personally escorted to our fantastic seats inside the arena.  The evening was extra special for one of the kids in our group who was celebrating her birthday! She and her family were able to participate in a fun pirate competition during the show.  They did a fantastic job and our group loved cheering them on!

At the end of the night, everyone was charged with excitement from the show.  Our guests were growling  their best pirates "arrrrghs!" and one guest even began dancing a jig from his theatre days!  It was the perfect end to a great weekend.

After such a fantastic first fall event, we're so excited for the upcoming getaways - and we hope to see you there!
